Why Clincher?

Australia is home to the world’s greatest appetite for buying and selling property. But many house hunters and property investors struggle to find time for thorough property search, and often lack localised, insider market knowledge.

There are hundreds of licensed buyer’s agents in Australia with superior market knowledge and access to unlisted properties, but how do you know which agent has experience closely matching your needs?

That’s where Clincher comes in. We offer a free, no risk and no obligation service to match your brief with an agent’s expertise.

How does it work?

In three easy steps, Clincher acts as a matchmaker between you and property experts in the area you hope to buy.

Step 1:

Complete the Clincher questionnaire in as great or little detail as you like. It includes questions about the type of home or investment property you are looking for, the area where you’d like to buy and your desired property price range.*

Step 2:

Clincher will compare your property brief against our comprehensive database of independent, Australian-licensed home finders to identify agents with experience matching your needs. The best-matched agents will receive your property requirements - without information that identifies you - and accept or decline the brief.

Step 3:

Clincher will send you up to three matched agents who are willing to accept your brief. We’ll connect you and they’ll get to work helping you find and buy the perfect home.

*Clincher provides guidance on fair pricing for a range of different services related to finding and transacting property. Fees are generally success based with an upfront establishment cost, helping to mitigate risk for the property buyer.

How does Clincher make money?

Clincher is a free service for home buyers and property investors. We take a small fee from buyer’s agents who are introduced to new clients through our site.

Why pay for property search assistance when you can do it yourself for free?

On average, Australians will buy two or three homes during their lifetime. A buyer’s agent spends their time understanding the value of property, investment strategies, and future developments in their local area. Although it’s common to pay for property search assistance in other markets, such as the U.S., the benefits of using a buyer’s agent aren’t widely known in Australia. Buyer’s agents are expert home finders, savvy negotiators and have access to unadvertised properties. In Australia, agents must be qualified and independent, meaning that they cannot operate on behalf of property sellers, thereby ensuring they have no conflict of interest. A buyer’s agent can help you find a home that works for you now, and to choose a property that delivers financial benefits such as strong long term growth or immediate investment returns. They can also act on your behalf in price negotiations or at auction, removing the risk of paying more than your ceiling price in an emotion-fuelled transaction.

For home buyers and property investors alike, a buyer’s agent saves time, legwork and money, helping you to clinch a deal on your home at a price that more than compensates for their fee.
